For most people, advantage of tablet PC comparing to a laptop or desktop PC is portability. Maybe you want to say that smartphone have that advantage, they just want something bigger than a smartphone and they want to get access to the Internet. Reading books on mobile devices is more and more popular recently, the user experience on Tablet PC obviously better than smartphone.

Anyway, complex digital devices like Tablet PC will be used for different purpose by smart people, and maybe inventor of it didn't realize those use of Tablet PC. I believe, some extreme complex thing can be developed like a creature even if it's made by binary code or cold metal. Develop of Internet has proved that. So, buy some Tablet PC then use your imagination to create a different Tablet PC.
