NEW YORK, N. Jordan Scarpe Sconti .Y. - Eager to go on a long-overdue playoff run, the New York Mets realized they owed their pitching staff — and fans — a proven hitter. On Monday, they got one.The Mets made baseballs first splash of the off-season, agreeing with two-time All-Star outfielder Michael Cuddyer on a two-year deal worth $21 million.Michael is a tremendous addition to the middle of our lineup, general manager Sandy Alderson said in a statement. The 2013 NL batting champion became the first top free agent to switch teams since the World Series. Cuddyer, who turns 36 in March, had until later in the day to decide whether to accept a $15.3 million qualifying offer from Colorado.Sandy has talked about were looking to turn the corner here and start to compete in 2015, Mets assistant general manager John Ricco told reporters at the GM meetings in Arizona.I think this is a message that were going to be aggressive. Right out of the box we had a guy we liked, and we went and got him, he said. When hes healthy, Cuddyer hits. Even when hes hurt, he still swings a serious bat.Cuddyer batted .332 with 10 home runs and 31 RBIs this year in a season interrupted by injuries. He was limited to 49 games and was on the disabled list three times because of a strained left shoulder and a strained left hamstring. From mid-April to early September, he spent of a part of each month on the DL.He took a physical today. Weve looked at all the injuries and there was nothing there that we were too concerned about, Ricco said. And the age is the age. Certainly theres risk associated with any signing. The Mets went 79-83 last season, their sixth straight losing year since moving into Citi Field. They are hoping to contend for their first playoff spot since 2006, boosted by a strong rotation helped by the return of ace Matt Harvey from Tommy John surgery.Hours after Cuddyer joined the Mets, Jacob deGrom won the NL Rookie of the Year award.Im really looking forward to next year, with Harvey returning and just being a part of that staff. And then signing a bat like that, l think next year is going to be exciting, deGrom said.New York hit .239 last year, 28th in the majors, and wanted to add a hitter or two this off-season. Their fans pointed to another stat — playing in a major market, they finished the regular season 21st in payroll at under $93 million — and hoped the team would spend what it took to improve.Cuddyer made 35 starts in right field last year, along with 11 at first base and two at third. He joins a lineup where Daniel Murphy was the leading hitter at .289. All-Star third baseman David Wright had a down season and finished with an injured shoulder, while first baseman Lucas Duda provided pop with 30 home runs.Wright and Cuddyer are friends from the same region of Virginia, and have spent offseasons working out together and playing racquetball. In the Mets outfield, Juan Lagares won a Gold Glove last week in centre. Curtis Granderson hit .227 with 20 homers while mostly playing right and Chris Young, Eric Young Jr. and several others shared left.Cuddyer hit .331 with the Rockies in 2013, along with 20 home runs and 84 RBIs. He was the NLs starting designated hitter in the All-Star game that year at Citi Field. The Mets are moving in the fences in right field at Citi Field for next season. A right-handed hitter, Cuddyer has sprayed the ball around over the years.Cuddyer is a .279 hitter with a .347 on-base percentage in 14 seasons with Colorado and Minnesota. He hit a career-high 32 homers in 2009 with the Twins. In his three years with the Rockies, he batted .329 at hitter-friendly Coors Field and .286 on the road. This is a guy who is a professional hitter, Ricco said. Hes been in both leagues and had success everywhere.Cuddyer played in the post-season in six years with Minnesota, hitting .338 in 22 playoff games. He will get $8.5 million next season and $12.5 million in 2016.By signing Cuddyer, the Mets lose their first-round draft pick in June, the 15th choice overall.Colorado gets an extra pick between the first and second round. The Rockies lost 96 games last season, second-most in the majors to Arizonas 98, with Carlos Gonzalez, Charlie Blackmon and Corey Dickerson in the outfield along with Cuddyer. Scarpe Jordan Uomo Saldi . 25 against Miami. Hillis left Browns Stadium about two hours before kickoff, a decision that has led to speculation he was upset over ongoing negotiations with the club on a contract extension. Scarpe Jordan a Poco Prezzo . Irving played 10 minutes Sunday night before going to the locker room. He had two points and four assists, missing all five of his shots. The All-Star game MVP is the top scorer among Eastern Conference point guards with 21.TORONTO - Seattle striker Clint Dempsey is the highest-paid player in Major League Soccer, according to the latest figures from the MLS Players Union. The former New England Revolution, Fulham and Tottenham forward is making US$5,038,566.50 with the Sounders this season. There are eight other millionaire-plus players in the league including three forwards with Canadian teams: Marco Di Vaio of the Montreal Impact ($1,937,508), Toronto FCs Danny Koevermans ($1,663,323.33), and Kenny Miller ($1,124,992) of the Vancouver Whitecaps. Other big-ticket players are Thierry Henry ($4,350,000) and Tim Cahill ($3,625,000) of the New York Red Bulls, Robbie Keane ($4,333,333.33) and Landon Donovan ($2,500,000) of the Los Angeles Galaxy and Obafemi Martins ($1,725,000) of the Seattle Sounders. Donovan signed a contract extension last month that is believed to put him in the Dempsey salary range from next season on. The top Canadian earner is attacking midfielder Dwayne de Rosario, whose salary at D.C. United is listed at $645,333.33. Canadian defender Dejan Jakovic makes $303,341.33 at D.C. United. Canadian international Will Johnson earns $243,,750 as captain of the Portland Timbers. Scarpe Jordan Ingrosso. Spanish winger Alvaro Rey is on $204,450 with Toronto FC while captain Steven Caldwell is a bargain at $89,999,98. Mike Magee of the Chicago Fire is also great value at $191,666.67. With 16 goals, he stands tied for second in league scoring with Vancouvers Camilo Sanvezzo ($247,500) behind Di Vaio (18 goals). The salary figures do not tell the whole story since teams can use allocation money to "buy down" the cost of a player against the salary cap. NOTES — Midfielder Kyle Bekker scored in a losing cause Wednesday as the Toronto FC reserves (3-3-1) lost 3-1 at the FC Dallas reserves (4-6-1, 13 points). The Toronto lineup included Quillan Roberts, Ryan Richter, Michael Thomas, Jonas Elmer, Reggie Lambe and Emery Welshman ... At 18,610 a game this season, Torontos average attendance stands 10th in the 19-team league. Seattle leads at 43,180 followed by Los Angeles (22,156) and Montreal (20,823). Vancouver is sixth at 19,954 ... Toronto FCs next league victory will be its 50th. The teams current overall record in MLS play is 49-103-66 in seven seasons. Cheap Hoodies From China Discount NFL Shirts Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Cheap NFL Jerseys China Wholesale China Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys From China Cheap Jerseys Cheap Jerseys Fast Shipping China Jerseys Stitched Jerseys ' ' '

Leadership is something that is earned over time.BROSSARD, Que. -- Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price said Saturday the "lower body" injury he suffered in the NHL Eastern Conference final wont need surgery. Prices playoffs ended in the second period of the series opener after New York Rangers forward Chris Krieder crashed into him while on a breakaway. He would only call it a lower body injury, although he was wearing a brace on his right knee in the days after the incident. "Over time its going to get back to normal," he said. "I actually got really lucky, it could have been a lot worse than it was." Price lay on the ice for a moment after the collision early in the second period of New Yorks 7-2 victory, but finished the period. He was substituted by back-up Peter Budaj for the third. No penalty was called on the play, although teammate Brandon Prust said Kreiders crash was "accidental on purpose." "I dont think he did it intentionally and I dont think he tried to miss me either," said Price. "He was coming in with a lot of speed and he lost his footing. "Theres not much really to be said. Im not going to go seeking revenge or anything like that. Hockey is a game of chance and unfortunately, I was unlucky in that situation." Budaj was beaten for three goals in his one period of action and coach Michel Therrien made the surprise decision to start third-stringer Dustin Tokarski for the rest of the series. Tokarski, who had only played 10 NHL regular season games in his career and had no playoff experience, was solid in goal, going 2-3-1 with a 2.60 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage. Price had been 8-4-1 with a 2.35 average and a .919 save percentage. "That was probably one of the hardest situations you could ever throw a guy into and he really excelled," Price said of Tokarski, a former rival in the junior Western Hockey League. Buy Air Max 97 Australia. "He showed why hes won at different levels. "Hes an awesome guy and Ive got to tip my hat to him. He did an awesome job." It left Budaj out to dry. The Slovak has a year remaining on his contract but looks to have been bumped to third-string status. Price feels for him. "Its definitely a tough spot," he said. "Peters one of the genuinely nicest human beings Ive ever met. "Hes an unbelievable backup. Hes one of the best friends I have on this team and he showed a lot of character. He never hung his head, never pouted and he showed the utmost support for everybody, including Dustin. It takes a special person to do that." Price was on an accelerated rehab program after the injury. Going from a five-minute skate to a half hour in pads and then practising with his teammates. He said he should have been able to play if the team reached the Stanley Cup final. "I would have been pushing my luck to come back real quick, but obviously the time of year I would be trying to come back real soon," he said. "Obviously, in the playoffs you play through things, and thats what I wanted to do. But theres also the reality that no matter how bad you want to play and how bad you want to get in there, theres also a question of how effective you are going to be. That was a decision that we had to make." He said the injury was not related to the one he suffered while backstopping Canada to gold at the Sochi Olympics in February. The 26-year-old plans to continue rehab in Montreal for a short spell and return home to British Columbia to heal and get ready for next season.Wholesale NFL Jerseys Wholesale Nike NFL Jerseys NFL Jerseys From China Cheap Nike Basketball Jerseys Wholesale Hockey Jerseys China Nike Baseball Jerseys Cheap College Jerseys China Cheap Football Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Canada Wholesale NHL Jerseys Canada Wholesale Nike MLB Jerseys Canada Cheap NBA Jerseys Authentic Canada Stitched Soccer Jerseys Canada Cheap Jerseys Canada NFL ' ' '

REGINA - The Friday night lights will shine again on Seth Doege. Air Jordan Wholesale Ireland . The San Angelo, Texas product, who was a high school and college quarterback sensation in the Lone Star State, will start his first CFL game with the Saskatchewan Roughriders (9-4) on Friday at Mosaic Stadium against the leagues top team, the Calgary Stampeders (11-2). You can watch the game live on TSN1, TSN3, TSN4, TSN5 and TSN GO at 10pm et/7pm pt. The 25-year-old rookie said his upbringing has prepared him well for his first pro start. The Rider Nation fan base reminds me a lot of big time football in Texas just because people are crazy about it here and they love it and have a lot of passion for it, Doege said. In Texas, all of the movies youve seen, its pretty similar. If youre winning, anyway, thats what its like. Doege grew up in a community in rural Texas where high school football on Friday nights mattered. His father was a high school coach, and that meant the game was introduced to him at an early age. Doege was the starter of his west Texas high school team in his freshman and sophomore years. Knee injuries derailed his junior and senior seasons, but Doege still drew interest from nearby Texas Tech University. Doege blossomed into a star his junior year with the Red Raiders, as he set an NCAA Division I record for completion percentage in a game (90.0 per cent, on 40-of-44 pass attempts). His 4,004 passing yards that year ranked eighth in the nation. His senior season was even better. He was named the MVP of the Meineke Car Care Bowl and finished in the top three in the country in passing yards (4,205 yards) and touchdown passes (39). Doege said he accepts the added pressures and responsibilities associated with being the starting quarterback in a football-crazed community. In college, you get used to it, he said. When you go to a big school, youre playing in front of 60,000 or 70,000 fans each and every week, especially in a big time conference. You get used to the crowd and you love it. Thats part of it, thats part of being the quarterback. You get all the love when things are good and all the blame when things are bad. Thats part of the job description. Its no different in Regina, where fans were left shaking their heads after a 24-0 defeat last week at the hands of the Edmonton Eskimos. Tino Sunseri started that game before Doege entered in the second half. Tino and I want that. We want to be the guy that elevates this team, Doege said. I think we both have the skill set to play at a high level and I think the guys trust us in the locker-room, regardless whether its Tino or myself. Doege has climbed the Riders depth chart in recent weeks. Starting quarterback Darian Durant went down nearly a month ago with a torn tendon in his right (throwing) elbow, with Sunseri having filled in under centre the previous three games. The Riders have scratched out just 38 points in those three contests, including a pair of lopsided losses on the road to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (28-3) and to the Eskimos (24-0). Sandwiched between those defeats was a second-half rally from Sunseri that led the Riders to 35-32 victory over the Ottawa Redblacks on Sept. 21. But songs of Sunseris praises quickly turned to a chorus of boos after the Riders beatdown in Edmonton last week. Doege is next in line. For this week, I thought it was a chance to give Seth a chance to show what he has, head coach Corey Chamblin said. They (Sunseri and Doege) have different skill sets for the most part, but when I looked at ita€| (Doege) has good command of the huddle this week and I want to see him go for it. Chamblins decision on Wednesday ended a few days worth of rumours of new quarterbacks coming to Saskatchewan, including a trade for Henry Burris or a return of veteran Kerry Joseph. Durant is still recovering from elbow surgery on his right throwing arm and isnt expected to return any time soon. However, earlier this week, Riders general manager Brendan Taman suggested Durant could rejoin the team for the final week or two of the regular season. Chamblin wasnt as optimistic. Were not even at the point where he can grip the ball and throw it, he said. It doesnt matter what we are told or where we are from there. I will hold those thoughts until we actually see where his progression and rehab is. Burris name popped into the conversation on Monday after reports surfaced the Riders had contacted the Redblacks about a possible trade for the 39-year-old veteran quarterback. Joseph, who led the Riders to the 2007 Grey Cup championship, was also a part of the water-cooler conversation this week. Nothing has materialized with either Burris or Joseph, meaning the Riders plan to stick with Doege and Sunseri for the foreseeable future. Its time to shake things up. Maybe its one of those things we can shake up to get back into the win column, Chamblin said. Cheap Jordans Ireland . Pironkova, who was ranked outside the top 100 despite reaching the Wimbledon semifinals in 2010, beat three top 10 players in Sydney, 2012 French Open finalist Sara Errani, 2011 Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova and Kerber. Jordan Basketball Shoes Ireland . The Calgary skip fell 10-8 to Swedens Oskar Eriksson in semifinal action Saturday and will face Switzerlands Peter de Cruz for the bronze medal  (Saturday at 10pm et/7pm pt on TSN2).Glendale, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - David Backes had four goals and Brian Elliott stopped 23 shots for his second shutout of the season to give the St. Louis Blues a 6-0 win over the Arizona Coyotes on Tuesday. Paul Stastny had a goal and an assist while Jaden Schwartz also scored for the Blues, who have won their past two. Its crazy. Weve gone years without a hat trick and now we have six, Backes said. I dont know how to explain it, but you wont hear anyone complaining about having hot nights like that. Five guys (with hat tricks), that says something about how different guys are stepping up every night. Mike Smith allowed all six goals on 39 shots for the Coyotes, who have lost two of three. The shots were 32-14. Thats not a goaltender problem; thats a people-in- front-of-them problem, Coyotes coach Dave Tippett said. Stastny scored his goal at 7:57 of the first period to give the Blues a 1-0 lead as a turnover by Arizona to the right of its net was taken advantage of by Stastny for his eighth goal of the year. Backes then scored the next four goals to tie a career-high he set on April 2, 2009 against Detroit. Air Jordan Shoes For Sale Cheap. Skating on the power play, the Blues made it a 2-0 game when Backes buried a nice setup from T.J. Oshie at the left side of the net at 6:15 of the second. It was Backes on the power play again just over a minute later as he rushed in the Arizona zone and shot the puck into the left corner for a 3-0 lead. Backes capped the hat trick with 5:07 to play in the middle period as he finished off a rush play with a wrister from the left circle, and he made it a 5-0 game just 3:15 into the third when he crashed the net and tapped it an Alex Steen pass. Schwartz scored just under three minutes later on the power play to cap the scoring. Game Notes Elliott has 27 career shutouts ... St. Louis hosts San Jose on Thursday ... CHARLOTTE, N. Air Force 1 Australia Online .C. - Panthers coach Ron Rivera hopes the return of two starting offensive linemen will give Cam Newton more time to make plays in the passing game. Carolina is mired in a three-game losing streak entering Monday nights game at Philadelphia and is 1-5-1 in its last seven games. You can watch the game starting at 8:30pm ET/ 5:30pm PT on TSN1, TSN3, TSN4 and TSN5. Newton has struggled during the last three weeks, held to 527 yards passing and one touchdown with three interceptions during that span. Many of his throws are sailing high or wide or his intended target. Part of the issue is Newton has been under siege in the pocket, sacked 10 times in the last three games. The return of left tackle Byron Bell and left guard Amini Silatolu — who both practiced full on Thursday and arent listed on the teams injury report — should help an offence that ranks 26th in the league. Starting right guard Trai Turner is also improving, but may still be another week away. A lot of it is not just about him, Panthers coach Ron Rivera said of Newtons recent struggles. We can put it all on the quarterback and say its all about the quarterback, but this is a team game. Rookie Kelvin Benjamin has dropped a pass in the end zone in each of the last two games for Carolina (3-5-1). And Newton has gotten little help from his running backs, which have been hobbled by injuries all year. Playing behind an offensive line last Thursday night that included four undrafted players hasnt helped either. Rivera said earlier in the week if the Panthers are going to reach the playoffs in back-to-back seasons, theyll need to stay healthy on the offensive line the rest of the way. In order for us to make a run. ... weve got to have some groups have some continuity, the (offensive line) being one of them, Rivera said. Its a group thats been up and down because of the injuries. Newton did some self-scouting during in five days off players had since last Thursday nights loss to New Orleans and said he needs to get better, too. I think were at that point right now that everybody understands whats at stake, Newton said Wednesday. Every week is a must-win for us. Mark Sanchez, who is filling in for the injured Nick Foles for the Eagles at quarterback, can relate to what Newton is going through. He struggled in New York and wound up getting cut by the Jets. Sanchez said Newton will be just fine if he continues to trust the coaches and his preparation and not let outside distractions get to him. Hes a heckuva player, a physical specimen with incredible talent, Sanchez said. Hes one of those guys that you play against and its like, Dang, man. The guy is a stud. So he has to understand that hes one of heckuva player and to never change no matter what. When things arent looking so good from the outside just put your head down and keep working and studying and trust his ability. Eagles coach Chip Kelly is pretty confident Newton will bounce back, too — he just hopes it isnt Monday night. He knows all about Newtons potential. Newton led Auburn to a 22-19 win over Kellys Oregon Ducks in the 2011 BCS national championship, throwing for 265 yards and two touchdowns and running for 64 yards on 22 carries. Kelly called 6-foot-5, 245-pound Newton the complete package at quarterback. I remember just watching him in pregame warmups and thinking, holy smokes this guy is a legitimate quarterback, Kelly said. He can throw it. Obviously he broke Peyton Mannings rookie (yards passing) record. He can make all the throws and then, unfortunately, if you defend all the throws he has the ability to pull it down and run. He can run around people, he can run through people. Hes built like an NBA power forward. Newtons future appeared on the rise entering this season after leading the Panthers to the NFC South championship. But after a 12-4 season, Newtons overall record as a starter has fallen to 27-28-1. Hes been hobbled by rib and ankle injuries and hes completing just 57 per cent of his passes this year with only eight touchdowns in eight starts and five interceptions. I just want to win, whether I play good, bad or indifferent, Newton said. . We are past due for a game that proves we are what we thought we were. ___ AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and www.twitter.com/AP_NFLAir Force 1 Clearance . Happ has been solid since getting roughed up for seven runs in four innings at Cincinnati on June 21. He tossed 7 2/3 shutout frames against the Chicago White Sox while striking out eight in his next start. Most recently, Happ gave up four runs on six hits over seven innings while striking out four and walking nobody against Milwaukee on Wednesday. Weaver, after giving up just one earned run in each of his previous two starts, was tagged for five runs on nine hits over 5 2/3 innings against the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday. Once again, the long ball hurt Weaver as he gave up two home runs to run his seasons total to 16 allowed. Prior to his last start, Weaver had gone 17 straight innings without giving up a homer. "I just left a couple pitches up, and those guys put it where they should," Weaver said. L.A. has won 10 straight at home and 15 of its last 16 overall at Angel Stadium. The Halos concluded a four-game home sweep of the Houston Astros following Sundays 6-1 victory. Starter Garrett Richards struck out a career-high 11 while pitching 7 1/3 innings of one-run ball to improve to 10-2 on the season. Koole Calhoun homered and went 3-for-3, while Albert Pujols was 2-for-3 including a two-run single. Air Force 1 Cheap Outlet. The Blue Jays are trying to avoid a season-worst fifth straight loss, although they will have to do so without All-Star slugger Edwin Encarnacion, who is expected to miss at least two weeks with a strained right quadriceps that he injured during Saturdays 5-1 loss at Oakland. Encarnacion is second in the majors in both home runs (26) and RBI (70). "It hurts us not having him on the team," said outfielder and fellow All-Star Jose Bautista. "The No. 1 priority is to get him better." Toronto, which leads the majors with 114 homers on the season, lost each game of a four-game set at Oakland as the offense went 0-for-20 with runners in scoring position. It was more of the same for the teams suddenly lackluster offense during Sundays 4-2 loss, which dropped the team two games behind Baltimore in the AL East standings. The Blue Jays held a one-game lead atop the division entering the series against the Athletics. "We got shut down big time," manager John Gibbons said. "Were just not very good right now. Were just not producing." S: The Argos open the 2014 season
Posted On 01/23/2019 02:13:10

TORONTO -- One major question mark from the Toronto Argonauts pre-season seems to have resolved itself -- thats the strength of the quarterbacks. Air Jordan 12 Retro Uk . Ricky Ray, Trevor Harris and Mitchell Gale all threw touchdown passes for Toronto as the Argos romped to a 41-23 victory over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Thursday, the CFL pre-season finale for both teams. Ray, the Argos star QB who set a CFL single-season completion record last year, played less than a quarter but was solid in his first game action this season. "I felt I was able to see things the way I wanted to," Ray said. "Last year I played an even shorter period of time (in the pre-season). I feel like things were pretty smooth for the most part, I felt like the speed of the game wasnt something I had to adjust to, so that was good. "I feel ready to go." Ray completed seven of nine pass attempts for 90 yards and a touchdown. Harris was 8-for-16 for 86 yards, one touchdown and an interception, while Gale was 10-for-11 for 131 yards and one TD. The game, played in front of a capacity crowd of 5,216 fans at a sun-drenched Varsity Stadium -- normally the home to the University of Toronto Varsity Blues -- marked the first meeting between the two teams since the Tiger-Cats ended the Argos 2013 season, with a 36-24 Eastern final victory. It was also the first time Ray and his Argos understudy last season Zach Collaros had faced each other since Collaros was released then signed as a free agent with Hamilton in the off-season. Collaros, the Tiger-Cats most significant off-season acquisition, completed 13 of 18 passes and threw for 196 yards and one touchdown. "Its tough not having him here, hes a good guy, good player," Ray said of his former teammte. "But its also exciting to see him get his chance and play. He played really well tonight and I think hes going to have a great year." Ray missed eight games last season to injury so having a competent quarterback behind him will be important. Harris appears ready to step into that role, with Gale and Casey Pachall waiting in the wings. The roster deadline for CFL teams is 11:59 p.m. on Saturday. "Its hard at this point, well have to go back home and watch the film but some guys certainly stepped up and did what they needed to do," said Argos coach Scott Milanovich. "So well have to see who those guys were and make some decisions (Friday) or Saturday." Milanovich was pleased with Gale, receiver Terrell Sinkfield, who caught five passes for 100 yards, running back Jeremiah Johnson, who scored on a 24-yard run, and the entire defensive line. The Argos had a whopping nine sacks on the night. "They put some pressure on the quarterback most of the night, and thats something were looking for. It was very good to see," Milanovich said. "Its a pre-season game, lets not overstate what it was, but it was good to see. It was good they were getting after him." Argos linebacker Shea Emry spent a good chunk of the first half on the trainers table, getting his hip stretched out. He never returned to the game, but said it was just normal tightness that comes from training camp. Emry enjoyed watching the strong play of the Argos defence from the sidelines. "Thats our defence, thats what we expect out of those guys," he said. "They went out and did their jobs, and the defensive backs were obviously doing their jobs, and it was fun to see those guys flying around." The game -- the final dress rehearsal for the real deal -- had the hard-hitting feeling of a regular-season affair. "I think some of that comes with momentum when you get a couple of big hits early, especially when youre getting after the quarterback, it kind of galvanizes the team and gets the blood flowing," Milanovich said. "There was a lot of jobs on the line tonight, those guys understood it. This is their last chance to prove they deserve to be here." Ticats kicker Justin Medlock had two field goals -- 40 and 49 yards -- and two converts. The Argos Swayze Waters kicked five converts, and Josh Jasper added field goals from 16 and 40 yards for Toronto. Ray played the first quarter and found Chad Owens over the middle for a 27-yard touchdown at 6:43. Tavoy Moore fumbled a punt return that bounced into the Ticats end zone at 3:17, and Jermaine Gabriel pounced on the ball for a second Toronto TD. The Argos led 14-3 to end the first quarter. Harris took over and marched the Argos 75 yards, throwing a two-yard touchdown pass to Jason Barnes at 11:08 of the second, and the Argos led 21-6. Luke Tasker scored Hamiltons first touchdown 58 seconds before halftime, catching a 48-yard pass from Collaros, and then a two-yarder to score and send the teams into the dressing room with Argos leading 21-13. The Argos went with Gale in the third, and he threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Darvin Adams at 8:58, putting the home team up 28-13. With 2:13 left in the third, Johnson had a beautiful 24-yard run for a touchdown, making multiple Tiger-Cats defenders miss on his way to the end zone. That put Toronto up 35-13. Hamilton linebacker Abraham Kromah grabbed a deflected Pachall pass and ran six yards into the end zone to pull the Tiger-Cats to within 35-23 with four minutes to play. Sinkfield made a spectacular diving catch on a bomb from Pachall with 2:45 left to put Toronto within scoring distance, and Jasper connected on a 16-yard field goal to cap the series. The Argos were coming off a 24-22 victory over the Blue Bombers in Winnipeg a week earlier. The Ticats had beaten the Montreal Alouettes 28-23 in the exhibition opener for both those teams last Saturday. NOTES: The Argos open the 2014 season next Thursday at Winnipeg, while the Ticats are in Saskatchewan on June 29 to battle the Roughriders. Cheap Jordan 12 Uk . SAN DIEGO -- The San Francisco Giants are totally in favour of instant replay. Cheap Air Max Plus Ireland . As soon as Xavier Nady was called safe after sliding into home plate to apparently pull the San Diego Padres to 4-3 on Chase Headleys bases-loaded double in the third inning Sunday, Giants manager Bruce Bochy popped out of the dugout to challenge. After 88 seconds, the umpires called Nady out and a run came off the board. Replays showed Buster Posey made a swipe tag on Nady before he touched the plate. "I like replay, and obviously it changed the game today," Bochy said after the Padres held on for a 4-3 victory that snapped a three-game losing streak. "Thats a run on the board. It helped us win the game by getting it right." Tim Lincecum liked it, too, because it helped him get his first victory of 2014. "We could have a tie game right now," Lincecum said. "Im just glad we were able to get an out right there. That was huge. That inning could still be going on right now. You never know," Lincecum said. Posey hit a two-run home run and the Giants had only three hits. Padres pitchers retired 23 of the final 24 batters and the Giants didnt get a hit after the second inning. The Giants had scored only one run in each of their previous three games. Bochys challenge proved to be big because Nick Hundley homered off Lincecum on the first pitch of the seventh. Had Bochy not challenged, the game would have been tied. "I knew I was going to challenge it because I thought he tagged him," Bochy said. "Buster said he tagged him. Where he was, he had to be out. He was in front of the plate, so if we tagged him, I knew he couldnt have gotten to the plate." Posey said he knew he tagged Nady. "Thats tough at full speed, though," Posey said as he watched a replay in the clubhouse after the game. Bochy, a former catcher, agreed. "Its the toughest call to make in baseball, the play at home plate." Headleys double went into the right field corner, bringing in Venable and Smith ahead of Nadys slide. "I was hoping he got in there or was hoping it was inconclusive," Headley said. "Thats the great thing about replay, it takes it out of the hands of the umpire if its a close play." Manager Bud Black said the reversal didnt take "a lot out of us. It would have been nice. But I think we are seeing a new era in front of our eyes with replay." Said Bochy: "Even when you think hes out, your emotions get involved. Its got to be conclusive. Youve got to remind yourself of that." Lincecum (1-1) was chased by Hundleys first homer of the season. Lincecum allowed three runs and seven hits, struck out seven and walked three. Sergio Romo pitched the ninth for his fifth save in as many chances. He issued a leadoff walk to Chase Headley, who advanced on a wild pitch before Romo retired the side. Lincecum improved to 14-6 in 27 starts against San Diego, his most against any opponent. Lincecum threw his first career no-hitter at Petco Park on July 13. It was the ninth time in 10 games the Giants were involved in a one-run decision. "Unbelievable, man," Bochy said. "Ive been on a few runs where you play tight games, but never like this. A few more grey hairs, but it goes with the territory. Its who we are." Walks hurt Padres starter Robbie Erlin (1-2). Posey homered an estimated 427 feet to left-centre on the first pitch he saw from Erlin in the first, his fourth. Hunter Pence was aboard on a one-out walk. Angel Pagan hit a two-run, bases-loaded single with one out in the second. Erlin had loaded the bases by walking Brandon Hicks, allowing a single by Brandon Crawford and walking Lincecum. Erlin allowed four runs and three hits in six innings, walked three and struck out three. After allowing the two-run single by Pagan, Erlin retired his final 14 batters. NOTES: Lincecum improved to 8-3 with a 2.68 ERA in 15 career starts at Petco Park. ... San Diego 2B Jedd Gyorko got the day off. He had played every inning of the Padres first 18 games. Alexi Amarista started in his place. ... The Giants head to Colorado, where they open a three-game series Monday night, with RHP Ryan Vogelsong (0-0, 5.40) scheduled to face LHP Jorge De La Rosa (0-3, 7.58). The Padres will be at Milwaukee to start a three-game set, with RHP Andrew Cashner (2-1, 1.27) scheduled to oppose RHP Wily Peralta (2-0, 1.96). Air Max Plus Ireland Sale . - Pierre-Maxime Poudrier scored twice and added an assist, and Antoine Bibeau made 43 saves as the Val-dOr Foreur downed the Baie-Comeau Drakkar 6-3 on Sunday to force Game 7 in their Quebec Major Junior Hockey League final series. Cheap Air Max Plus Sale .C. -- LeBron James called comments on an audio recording of a man identified as Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling "appalling" and said hes not sure if he would suit up for the remainder of the NBA playoffs if he played for the Clippers.Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic look set to battle it out for the year-end world No 1 ranking, but six of the other best players of the season will also be in attendance at the ATP World Tour Finals in London, which takes place from November 13-20. (Sports Network) - Toronto Blue Jays hope to snap a seven-game losing streak on Sunday afternoon and avoid getting swept in a three-game series by the Houston Astros. Cheap Air Max 1 Online Australia . Mark Buehrle will get the call on Sunday for the Blue Jays, and since losing back-to-back games in mid-July, he has turned his season around with wins in four of his past six outings to improve his record to 9-7 and lower his ERA to 4.23. The veteran southpaw was fantastic in his latest outing, yielding just two earned runs in 6 2/3 innings against the Yankees on Aug. 20, but he was saddled with the no-decision as Toronto fell, 3-2. The bad news for Buehrle is that he has struggled mightily away from Rogers Centre this season, winning just two of his 13 road starts with a 5.63 ERA. The Astros will counter with Dallas Keuchel, who is in the midst of a poor sophomore season at 5-7 with a 5.11 ERA. The 25-year-old has been hit hard all season long, scattering 143 hits over 118 innings pitched while coughing up 18 homers. Keuchel has registered just one win over his last 11 appearances and hes given up four earned runs or more in three straight contests. He most recently allowed eight hits, three walks and four earned runs in four innings of work in an Aug. 17 no-decision versus the Angels. The lefty earned a win over the Blue Jays back on July 27, but he was roughed up over the course of 7 1/3 innings, allowing 10 hits (three homers) and six earned runs. The Blue Jays losing streak continued on Saturday as the Astros got out to a big lead early and eventually cruised to an 8-5 victory. Houstons offense exploded early on as it found itself up 8-0 heading into the fifth inning. Jason Castro belted two home runs, his 16th and 17th of the season, and finished 3-for-3 with three RBIs and three runs scored. "The biggest thing that Ive really been trying to do this year is stay as consistent as possible and really not deviate from my approach," Castro said. "Ive tried to be as simple as possible and its worked out so far." Brandon Barnes was 2-for-4 with two RBI, while Robbie Grossman and L.J. Hoes both drove in runs as well. Brad Peacock (3-4) was far from impressive, scattering six hits, two walks and five earned runs over 5 2/3 innings, but it was good enough to earn the win. Chia-Jen Lo pitched a scoreless ninth inning for his second save. Chien-Ming Wang (1-2) was handed the loss in the spot start, allowing five runs (four earned) in three innings. Kevin Pillar belted a three-run home run in the fifth inning for his first- career long ball. Edwin Encarnacion also left the yard for the 33rd time this season, giving him a homer in three straight contests. The Blue Jays won three of the first four games played with the Astros this season between July 25-28. They were also swept in their last trip to Houston, a three-game series from June 10-12, 2005. Cheap Wholesale Air Max 1 . Yet now its time for the most important pick of them all; the Grey Cup. The thought of going 5-0 with the correct choice is quite intoxicating, I dont think I have ever gone perfect in my CFL futuristic playoff speculations and would take great pride in guessing - I mean analyzing - correctly. Air Max 1 Outlet Australia . The win puts the final playoff berth in Group A in question. If the Czechs beat Slovakia on Tuesday, they will go through. If they lose, Germany will get the last quarter-final berth. PHILADELPHIA -- Wilin Rosario got some words of encouragement and then broke himself and the Colorado Rockies out of an offensive slump. Rosario hit a go-ahead, three-run homer and Jorge De La Rosa pitched six strong innings to lift the Rockies to a 6-2 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday night. Rosario entered the game without a hit in his previous 13 at-bats, but he got a pep talk from De La Rosa before the game. "I told Rosario in the training room before the game, You have to do something to win the game," a smiling De La Rosa said afterward. "And he did." Drew Stubbs went 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI for the Rockies, who had lost four of five while being outscored 16-0 in their two previous games. "That was a great win because we battled hard," Rockies manager Walt Weiss said. "We had a tough night (Monday). This team shows up well every day, and they turn the page. They went out there ready to win a game tonight." Ben Revere hit his first career homer in his 1,466th at-bat, and Darin Ruf also went deep for the Phillies. The start of the game was delayed 1 hour, 22 minutes due to rain. De La Rosa (6-3) continued his strong stretch, allowing one run and six hits with four strikeouts and two walks. The left-hander is 6-0 with a 1.58 ERA in his last seven starts. He wiggled out of a bases-loaded, no-out jam in the third when he got Revere to ground out, Jimmy Rollins to pop out and Chase Utley to fly out. "I just tried to keep the ball on the ground," De La Rosa said. "Thats how I got out of it." Said Weiss, "I feel like the game kind of turned right there. That was critical." Phillies manager Ryne Sandberg agreed. "Came back to haunt us," Sandberg said. "Thats a big momentum inning for them getting out of it. . Theres just something about getting the job done in that situation." Philadelphia starter Cole Hamels (1-3) was cruising along until walking consecutive batters with one out in the seventh. After Justin Morneau flied out for the second out, Rosario broke out of a slump by lifting Hamels first pitch just over the wall in right to give Colorado a 4-1 lead. He had been 0 for 15 before the homer, his sixth in 10 career games at Citizens Bank Park. "That was a big hit for him, a real money hit," Weiss said. Cheap Air Max 1 Australia. Said Hamels, "If the pitch is down, its a definite different result. Its just a poorly executed pitch. I have to be able to make that pitch." Hamels left after the seventh after giving up four runs and three hits with four strikeouts and those two walks. Reveres one-out homer off left-handed reliever Boone Logan in the seventh just cleared the wall in right to pull Philadelphia within 4-2. Revere pointed skyward after crossing the plate, then grinned while receiving congratulations from Rollins before entering a silent dugout. His teammates relented after a minute or so and mobbed the smiling Revere. "Its a good feeling," Revere said. "When I got to second base, I didnt know what to do. I was trying not to smile but some guys got on me. It was fun. Ill try to hit 400 more." Rufs fourth-inning homer to left tied the game at 1 and halted De La Rosas scoreless streak at 15 1-3 innings. Ruf was starting at first base in place of left-handed slugger Ryan Howard, who sat against the lefty starter despite going 3 for 4 with a homer and five RBIs in Philadelphias 9-0 win over Colorado on Monday and knocking in 14 runs in his last nine games against the Rockies. It was the first homer of the season for Ruf, who was activated from the disabled list last Wednesday after recovering from a left oblique strain. Howard pinch hit with one out and two on in the eighth against righty Adam Ottavino and grounded into an inning-ending double play. It was the 58th double play of the season for the Rockies, who led the majors in that category entering Tuesday. Colorado got on the board first with a run in the fourth on Troy Tulowitzkis hard-hit sacrifice fly. Tulowitzki, the NL batting leader who entered hitting .447 off lefties, went 0 for 2 against Hamels. NOTES: Rockies LF Carlos Gonzalez was lifted after the fourth inning due to a right calf contusion. He is day-to-day. . Philadelphias Marlon Byrd went 0 for 4 with two strikeouts, dropping him to 1 for his last 17. ... ST. Air Max 1 Sale Cheap . PAUL, Minn. -- The Chicago Blackhawks were chasing for much of the game, and the Minnesota Wild just kept generating chance after chance to score. Once overtime arrived, though, all Patrick Kane needed was one friendly bounce to finish off another opponent. Kane scored on a backhand at 9:42 of the extra period to lift the Blackhawks to a 2-1 victory over the Wild in Game 6 to clinch their second-round Western Conference series on Tuesday night, the fourth playoff overtime winner of his career. "Hes a special player, and guys have that instinct, have that knack of finding pucks, wanting to be out there, wanting to score," Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said. Kris Versteeg scored 1:58 into the game and Corey Crawford came up with tough save after tough save among his 34 stops for the Blackhawks, who advanced to the Western Conference finals to meet either Anaheim or Los Angeles. The Ducks lead the other semifinal series 3-2, with the Kings hosting Game 6 on Wednesday night. Since 2009, the first post-season appearance for Kane and co-star Jonathan Toews, the Blackhawks are 14-0 in Games 5 and 6 of playoff series that were tied after Game 4. Theyre also 12-2 in games with a chance to win a series, including 6-1 on the road. "We probably didnt play our best tonight, but just finding a way to win is something this team has done for many years now," Kane said. Erik Haula scored his fourth goal of the playoffs and Ilya Bryzgalov stopped 25 shots for the Wild. Minnesota pushed a frenetic pace for much of the night but paid for all those missed prime opportunities when a simple dump-in behind the net by Brent Seabrook took a strange bounce off the glass back toward the slot. The puck slid past Peter Regin as he was tied up with a defenceman. Kane snagged it, deked once and flipped it into top of the net. He said he wasnt sure right away if the puck was in. But he soon found out. "It seems like it was not our luck tonight," said Bryzgalov, who nearly matched Crawford save for save. "We hit some posts in the third period and they got like the first goal after some crazy two bounces." The Wild kept up the pressure on Crawford that they created in the middle of the game, but whether it was the goalies pads, blocker or a crossbar in the way, the pucks didnt go in. "We really believe that we were capable of doing more than just winning this game," a dejected Wild coach Mike Yeo said, adding: "Our guys did everything that we asked and they laid it on the line, and thats what hurts." The Blackhawks scored first in six of their previous 11 games in these playoffs and won each time, their only victory without taking the first lead coming in Game 5 against the Wild. Versteeg put them right back in control just 1:58 in on his 28th birthday, when he outmuscled Keith Ballard for possession in the corner and flipped an bad-angle shot that bounced awkwardly among the bodies around the crease, hit the back of Clayton Stoners leg and skidded past Bryzgalov. The Wild got their break -- or, rather, breakaway -- soon after the first intermission when Haula sped to snag a pass by Matt Cooke that banked perfectly off the boards and he snapped the puck on the rush past Crawfords glove. Each side brought an aggressive game plan, with defencemen pinching down often and all kinds of rushes developing both ways, particularly in that breathless penalty-free second period that had the home team buzzing so much that Quenneville used his timeout. Crawford made two saves apiece on a pair of breakaways by Justin Fontaine. Cody McCormick tried a spin move to fend off Duncan Keith and nearly got the puck past Crawford, who used his left pad to stop it. "On the road this was probably one of my bigger games of the playoffs so far," Crawford said. "This team seems to enjoy that position where we have a chance to eliminate and move on to the next series. We had a chance to do that and we stuck with it all game." NOTES: Kane moved into the NHL lead with 35 post-season goals since 2009. ... The Wild had goalie Darcy Kuemper dressed for action for the first time since he was removed in the third period of Game 6 of the first round series against Colorado because of what the team labeled an upper body injury. ... The Blackhawks fended off two more power plays in the third period and dropped the Wild to 2 for 20 in the series. Cheap Air Max 1 Australia . "It was awesome," he said. Coming off an ugly three-game sweep at the hands of the Yankees, Toronto found itself in a deep hole early after the Reds put an eight spot up on starter Liam Hendriks (six runs in 1 2/3 innings pitched) and Todd Redmond in the second. Air Max 1 Sale Australia . Nadals fellow Spaniard Pau Gasol, centre of the Chicago Bulls, received stem cell treatment on his knee in 2013.Nadal experienced severe back pain during the final of the Australian Open in January when he lost to Stanislas Wawrinka.(Nadal) has a problem typical in tennis with a back joint, he had it at the Australian Open, and we have decided to treat it with stem cells, Ruiz-Cotorro said.He said that stem cells were recently extracted from Nadal for a cultivation process to produce the necessary quantities. When we have them we will put them in the point of pain, he said, with the goal of regenerating cartilage, in the midterm, and producing an anti-inflammatory effect.Nadal, now 28, won a record ninth French Open along with three other titles this season before a stunning loss to teenager Borna Coric at the Swiss Indoors in October dropped him to No. 3 in the ATP rankings. That tournament was only his third since Wimbledon due to a wrist injury. The Mallorca island native has struggled with injuries over recent years.A knee injury caused him to miss several months in 2012 before coming back to full strength to win 10 titles in 2013, including the U.S. Open and again dominating at Roland Garros.Nadals 14 Grand Slam titles ties him with Pete Sampras on the all-time list led by Roger Federer and his 17 victories. Cheap Air Max Nz Online . Defenceman Yannick Weber scored the go-ahead goal early in the third period and the Canucks breathed a sigh of relief with a 2-1 win on Saturday night. It was the first meeting between the teams since a fierce line brawl broke out two seconds into a game on Jan. 18 that saw 150 penalty minutes assessed. Tortorella had a meltdown that night and went after Flames head coach Bob Hartley by storming Calgarys locker-room during intermission. Tortorella, furious at Hartley for icing his fourth line to start the game, served a 15-day suspension and the struggling Canucks have been in free fall ever since. Hartley started tough guy Brian McGrattan again on Saturday night, but this time the gloves stayed mostly on. "We didnt even talk about it in our locker room," Tortorella said of Hartleys starting line. "We needed to play. We have to scratch, claw and grind and find pints anyway possible." Darren Archibald also scored for the struggling Canucks, who snapped a four game slide and came into Saturday as losers of 11 of their last 12 games, including Thursdays dispiriting 6-1 drubbing in Texas that defenceman Kevin Bieksa called "rock bottom" for the team. McGrattan had the only goal for Calgary, which had won its last two and three of its last five games. The teams played nice until six minutes into the game when Vancouvers Bieksa got the better of Calgarys Mark Giordano with a mean right hand after the two dropped gloves. Giordano headed to the dressing room after, but returned later in the period. "I could tell that Gio was good," said Hartley. "It was just a gash that needed to be fixed." The Canucks had their chances early, including a 2-on-1 against Flames goalie Joni Ortio, but David Booth fired the puck wide to keep his goal drought in tact. Booth hasnt scored since Dec. 17. The absence of Canucks stalwart goalie Roberto Luongo -- traded on Tuesday to Florida -- was sharply felt at 2:13 of the second when a harmless looking slap shot by McGrattan near centre ice somehow eluded new No. 1 Eddie Lack. The crowd groaned and Tortorella shook his head in disbelief. "I just wanted to throw one on net. I was at the end of my shift and fortunately it went in," said McGrattan. "It was a muck and grind game. A lot of sloppy plays at both ends; the puck was bouncing everywhere. Those are good tests to see what youre made of." Lack says he didnt let the bad goal take him mentally out of the game. "I am just telling myself to get going agaain, and try to focus on the next save," he said. Cheap Air Max Nz Sale. "And the guys got a goal really quick and that took the pressure off." Vancouver evened the game three minutes later with a goal almost as ugly. With three Canucks crowding Ortio in the crease, Archibald whacked in the puck for his first career NHL goal. It breathed some life into the Rogers Arena, which didnt have much to cheer with only eight Vancouver shots compared to the Flames 14 through two periods. "Its never a bad play to stuff it and crash the net and get a greasy one," said Archibald. "Thats part of my game -- win battles down low -- and I kind of won a battle and stuffed it from behind the net and pitchforked it in." Action picked up in the third as Canuck Ryan Kesler was stopped by Ortio on a point-blank shot in the slot, while at the other end, Lance Bouma missed on a wide-open net with Lack way out of position. Bouma has seen increased playing time lately as Hartley grows more confident in young winger. "Im gaining confidence every game," said Bouma. "The coach is putting a lot of trust in me and playing me in key situations. Im just trying to learn as much as I can, and I feel like its been going pretty well." Weber scored the go-ahead goal five minutes into the third when he banged home a rebound off a shot from new teammate Shawn Matthias, who came to Vancouver from the Panthers in the Luongo trade. "Maybe it wasnt the prettiest goals, but thats how we have to get out of our slump," said Weber. "We played a gritty game, and got some ugly goals and thats the way we have to play." Calgary had a chance to tie the game with two power-play chances thanks to Vancouvers Chris Higgins in the final five minutes, but the Flames couldnt capitalize. Higgins had three straight penalties in the third period. Despite Vancouvers recent hard times, the team is still only four points out of a playoff spot after Dallass 4-3 win against Minnesota on Saturday. Calgary (25-32-7) remains second last in the Pacific Division. Lack finished with 22 saves, while Ortio stopped 12 at the other end for Calgary. The Canucks (29-27-10) eclipsed their season-low of 20 shots. Notes: Saturday night marked the 10-year anniversary of former-Canuck Todd Bertuzzis on-ice attack on Steve Moore. The former Avalanche forward, who never played again in the NHL, filed a $38-million dollar lawsuit against Bertuzzi and the Canucks. A trial date has been set for Sept. 8. ...
